As actors, we are trained to adjust to a role and make personal choices that bring a character to life – our job is to convince the audience that the scripted lines come from us, the actor and not the writer. As casting directors, we learn to adjust to actors, producers, writers, and directors so that we can work together and complement each other's individual creativity to create the bigger picture.
How do actors and casting directors adjust to this new climate when so much of acting and casting is about human contact and connection? What will the future look like going further as far as casting and acting is concerned?
Actor and Casting Director Meghan Rafferty will share her unique journey and take us through a self-tape audition and a virtual casting session.
Meghan will assign individual short TV scenes to three people chosen at random who register before March 10. To prepare prior to the session, Meghan will read with these three people and give them notes as if they were auditioning for the role.
